Yeah, it’s a mouthful!
And so are these cheese-stuffed burgers wrapped in bacon.
Honestly, the only thing it needs is guacamole, it’s like a little self-contained burger.
[recipe title=”Cheese-Stuffed Burgers Wrapped in Bacon” servings=”8-10″ time=”1hr” difficulty=”easy”]
You will need:
1 kg minced beef
1/2 an onion, finely chopped
1 egg
1 tbs finely chopped fresh parsley
1 tbs ground ‘Season All’ grind {contains sea salt, pepper, bell peppers, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, onions, garlic, chili, lemon rind, bay leaves, nutmeg & cloves}
Mozzarella cheese slices, thick cut squares to fit inside the burger
Streaky bacon
Avocado
Salt & pepper
Lemon juice
Mix the minced beef, onion, parsley, ground ‘season all’ and egg until well combined. {Use your hands}
Shape your burgers around a piece of cheese and make sure the cheese is snugly inside and properly covered.
Wrap 2 pieces of streak bacon in a cross shape around each burger – kind of like a hot-cross bun…
Cook on a medium to hot grill on your Big Green Egg, Weber or on a cast iron skillet.
Cook the burgers until golden brown and the bacon starts to crisp up. {You don’t want to overcook!}
For the guacamole, simply mash up some avocados with a fork, season with salt & pepper and add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Serve a dollop of guacamole onto your burgers and enjoy!
It’s grain-free, low carb and delicious.
The concept of these cheese-stuffed burgers wrapped in bacon is quite similar to these meatballs I’ve made previously, so if you enjoyed those, you’ll LOVE these!
Perfect for a weekend braai or cookout and also great for lunch boxes.
I’ll leave you know with this image, so you can drool a bit…
