I call it the ‘Triple B Casserole’ – Bacon, Boerewors & Broccoli.
It’s super quick and easy to make, and in my opinion, perfect for a Monday.
[recipe title=”Triple B Casserole” servings=”4″ time=”45mins” difficulty=”easy”]
You will need:
500 g boerewors {a traditional South African sausage – you can substitute sausage}
1/2 head of broccoli
1/2 packet of streaky bacon {125 g}
1/2 cup of cream
1 tbs Dijon mustard
100 g grated cheddar cheese
Slice the sausage and place in a small baking dish.
Slice the bacon and add to the sausage.
Break the broccoli into florets and arrange between the meat.
Mix the cream and mustard and pour it all over the casserole, then top with the cheese.
Bake at 180C/220F for 35 minutes.

Enjoy! X

June 23, 2015 at 2:30 pmI’m making this for supper tomorrow night. Quick question, do I need to braise the boerewors before it goes into the oven?

No, you can just cut it and pop it straight into the oven as directed – so easy!
Hope you enjoy! X

you really don’t need anything with it, but a simple herb salad works well, or even cauli rice or cauli mash.
