Perfect ‘faux’ the kids! Hehe, see what I did there…?
Boys are all about the superheroes… Capes and spiderwebs, muscles and fancy mobiles.
Oh how this household is in need of a bit of glitter and sparkles and princess tiaras…
{I’ll just pretend I’M the princess around here, because THAT shop is closed ;) }
Before you start thinking I’ve gone completely nutters, let me present you with a superhero-worthy green Hulk-a-licious ‘faux’caccia:
Just FYI – any green food is totally what The Incredible Hulk prefers to eat ;) and don’t forget that! {You’re welcome}
This is quite similar to some of the pizza base recipes I’ve posted, except that it’s thicker and I’ve included broccoli. {How sneaky of me…}
You can cut these into ‘bread sticks’ for handy snacks or serve it with any of your favourite toppings as a delicious low carb ‘faux’caccia.
[recipe title=”Cauliflower & Broccoli ‘Faux’Caccia” yields=”1 ‘faux’caccia loaf, approx 25x25cm” time=”1hr” difficulty=”easy”]
You will need:
1 head of cauliflower
1 head of broccoli
2 cups grated Mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3 eggs
3 tbs psyllium husk
1 tsp salt
Pinch of white pepper
Steam and drain the cauliflower & broccoli.
Puree in a blender and squeeze out all the excess water by wringing it in a clean dish towel.
Mix all these ingredients together and spread onto a lined baking sheet.
Bake at 180C for 30 minutes.
This also works really well for lunch boxes and road trips!
I like to add some lettuce, crispy bacon and cream cheese – you can even make it into a sandwich.
I’ll leave you with this image of me {Princess – or rather Queen Heidi} hard at work on a chilly winter’s day:
{I’m sipping a deliciously warming and comforting cup of Rooibos tea with a drop of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon and a dash of milk}
